# Slownotes Slownotes is an iOS app that scans handwritten notes and converts them into structured, searchable digital text using AI. It is designed for people who write by hand but want their notes searchable, taggable, and usable across modern productivity and AI tools. ## How it works 1. Scan a page of handwritten notes in the iOS app. 2. The Slownotes backend processes the image: OCR extracts the text, then AI structures the content and extracts metadata (tags, people, dates, tasks), then enriches the result with definitions and context. 3. The processed entry is stored locally on device in the iOS app. ## Features - AI-powered handwriting recognition (OCR) - Automatic structuring of free-form notes into headings, paragraphs and lists - Automatic tagging, task and person detection - Recognition of Slowdown markup (a small set of pen-friendly symbols for structure, mentions, tasks, discoveries and AI-enrichment triggers) - Term and concept enrichment with definitions and context - Export to Obsidian and Notion - Webhook integration for n8n, Zapier, Make and custom workflows - Markdown, PDF and JSON export - Local-first storage after processing ## Slowdown markup Slowdown is an open syntax of simple symbols people can add while writing by hand. Slownotes recognises these symbols and turns them into structured digital output: tags, mentions, tasks, decisions, discoveries and AI-triggered enrichment. ## Platforms - iOS (iPhone) ## Pricing See https://slownotes.app/ for current pricing. ## Links - Website: https://slownotes.app/ - Slowdown syntax: https://slownotes.app/slowdown/ - Privacy policy: https://slownotes.app/privacy - Terms of service: https://slownotes.app/terms - App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/slownotes-ai/id6764789772
